Euro Crisis Monitor website
The Institute of Empirical Economic Research at Osnabrück University has been tracking TARGET2 balances from October 2011 to September 2015, nearly on a daily basis. In our view, it was a key indicator of Europe's balance of payments crisis and continues to be a biomarker of financial stability in the Euro area. As of September, 2015, the ECB is providing these numbers in a common database. Nevertheless, we continue to provide the series for replication purposes and to enable researchers to update their studies on Target2-balances.
The website was the first publicly available database on Target2-balances and has widely been cited, e.g. in The New York Times, The Economist, The Times of India, The Atlantic, Financial Times, EconoMonitor, CNBC, and the Chicago Tribune.
Soon(*) to be updated with Stata programs for specification testing in (ordered) probit models
(*) to be honest, this project is overdue for quite some time now. While the tests are all programmed, the opportunity costs have let me shy away from beautifying and documenting the code. If anyone wants to add the missing parts, I would be happy to talk about a collaboration.
